Earth calling INFORMIX, Earth calling INFORMIX
We want serios BACKUP and RESTORE......
It is very nice to have world class PDQ and so on, but we need
some basic features with our engine.
We have 28+ Gb database backup problems. I had to drop 7.1 due
to errors in "ontape". I looked at onarchive, AND IT IS NOT THE
ANSWER TO THE PROBLEMS. I agree - it looks just like a new night-
mare.
The top of my "wishlist":
Unattended backup
Support for stackers, and autom. tape shift
Volume check on backup tapes.
Tape check program - to verify a tape without doing a restore
Backup and restore on "chunk" level.
Flexible restore.
I would be very glad to hear about any new developments from INFORMIX.
If they want "beta" testers, or just to get some idea of what we
customers want to have, they are certainly welcome to contact us.
