Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
The poster wanted a table that behaves like a normal table (indexes, constraints, visible to all sessions) but whose pages are never flushed to disk at checkpoint/LRU writes, since the data is short-lived and crash consistency doesn't matter — essentially a shared temp table. Respondents suggested creating the tables in RAW mode. The poster (on IDS 7.31) objected that RAW tables can't have indexes and asked how RAW differs from a normal table in a non-logging database and whether it performs better; that final question is not answered in the thread, so no full resolution is recorded.

Dear All ...
I wonder if there is a way that create some tables don't flush pages to chunk
while do checkpoint , just like temp table without log in temp dbspace,
the temp table can be seen in owner session , I'd like to create a table ,
which is the same as normal table , can have index ,constrain,... ,
and most importantly , don't flush to chunk while do checkpoint !!!
Those tables actully update very quickly in a very short time during 5 hours,
and I think the data consistency of these tables is not important to me
if the engine shutdown abnormally , so , can I get that kind of tables ?!
which like exactly the normal table , but just don't do flush while
LRU writes or checkpoint , sounds like temp table , but temp table
can be seen only for its owner session ~~
Any comments,ideas are welcome !!

What version of IDS are you running? Would a RAW table do what you want?

Bye now,
Obnoxio

Thanks you , Obnoxio ...
I am now using IDS 7.31 , I know about raw table ,
but I can not create index in raw table , and I can find
documents that raw table's dirty pages won't flush to chunk
while checkpoint ...
The only table I know of is temp table , which won't do
flush dirty pages to chunk while do checkpoint , I wonder
if I have IDS 11.50 , is there a way I can have such kind of table ?!
Thanks for replying ...
Create those tables in RAW MODE.

Dear All...
Thanks for all your replying of my question , still one last question
I'd like to ask , sorry and thanks ...
In a no-logging DB say stores7 , I can create a normal table in stores7 ,
I can also create the table in RAW mode , in IDS 11.50 engine ,
what is the difference between normal table and raw table ?!
except I can not use constraint in raw table or so , in performance viewpoint ,
can raw table get better performance than normal table ?!
