What we do is this... 1) Display whatever you want into the contract_number field of your form. 2) Do your construct omitting the contract_number from the list of fields. 3) Build your "select" statement the normal way but at the end, make sure you have something like " AND contract_number = \\"1234.567\\"" at the end.
