DATAX - Now on a Web site
Posted in 1996
The latest Beta version of Datax is on: http://www.flash.net/~aubit/ If you download the beta version - PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I want to have a rough idea of how many people I'll be sort of supporting/have testing! This program allows you to easily copy data from a unix machine to a Windows PC (generally this is done via the clipboard). It connects via RSH/REXEC over a tcpip network. If you want to try it you'll need: 1x PC Winsock compliant TCPIP stack (eg. wfwtcp, trumpet etc.) Windows (tested on 3.11 should even work on '95) 1x Unix box Must have Bourne/Korn shell (well if it hasnt it aint unix anyway) Must have either rexecd or rshd running, along with associated permissions (eg. ~/.rhosts) Rule Of Thumb: try typing "rsh unixhostname ls" on the unix box, if that works so should datax. Have fun! -- Mike Aubury _\\?/_ |O O| +----------oOOO-\\_/-OOOo---------+---------------------------- -+ | Heisenberg may have been here | mike@aubury.demon.co.uk | +--------------------------------+---------------------------- -+
