Problem with removing an instance from Enterprise
Posted in 2012
User encountered errors (error -214, -62) when removing Enterprise Replication from a 13-instance environment on Informix 10.00.FC11. The syscdr database persisted after removal. Proposed solution: restart instance with oninit -D, remove syscdr database, then re-add to replication. Expert agreed with plan but noted delete tables must also be removed. User asked for table names/locations but no further response recorded.

All,
Informix 10.00.FC11 on Sun Solaris 5.10
We have an ER environment consisting of 13 instances. Last night I had to
remove ER and all went tickety-bo until one of the instances reported the
following problem:
CDR NIF Shutdown: connections all shutdown.
20:13:41 CDR The NIF sub-component has shut down.
20:13:42 CDR GC: operation catalog purge (drop) failed (error -214).
20:13:42 CDR shutdown failed
20:13:42 CDR GC: operation error reporting severe error message failed (error
62).
20:16:28 Fuzzy Checkpoint Completed: duration was 0 seconds, 239 buffers not
flushed.
20:16:28 Checkpoint loguniq 102718, logpos 0x214d310, timestamp: 0xa6c05a51
The syscdr database still exists. I looked on the internet for similar
messages and saw various submissions. I recreated the ER environment minus
this instance but I do need to add it. So my cunning plan at the moment is:
1 - Stop the instance and restart it using oninit -D and then remove the
syscdr database.
2 - Add the instance into replication.
Does this sounds reasonable? Any alternative suggestions?
Before anyone mentions it this weekend we will be migrating to V11.70.FC2.
Regards
Andy G.
Sounds like a plan to me.

You will need to get rid of all of the delete tables as well.
