Help: Segmentation fault, core dump
Posted in 1996
Hi, We are running Informix 4GL (ver 7.1) on SunOs release 4.1.3_U1. We are dealing with about 30 tables and writing code in ESQL/C. However, it seems like giving a core dump whenever it tries to open a cursor. Note that this is happening with one ESQL/C program (so far) but otherwise looks fine for other programs. Also, no error code is shown before it core dumps which means that the previous SQL statement has been executed properly. The most amazing thing is that when we try to run the same program again, it core dumps at a different point in the program and sometimes does not core dump at all! However, in general it seems to be doing a core dump when it is trying to open a cursor. A possible reason could be some error with memory mapping but we are quite clueless in this matter. Any help regarding this will be appreciated. Thank you.
