Apologies for double posting but this seemed to get lost going to c.d.i. ! Anyone out there using this product in anger on live servers? I'm trying (with assistance) to get this setup to communicate between IDS 10 on Solaris and/or AIX and $QL $erver 2OO5 on W2K. Any tips/gotchas. Keith
Yes, My clients are using EGM to query against SQL Server 2005 and Oracle in a production environment but not in anger. We have been using it for a few years now and have had no issues, it keeps working just like the engine. It's on AIX 5.3 with IDS10. We also have a few other production setup's on Solaris 10 but going only against oracle. We may not have stretched the limits of the product in any manner. Basically about 200 to 300 simple selects per hour on simple data types. I would use the newer builds as they have supported versions of the ODBC driver for SQL server and Oracle. Hi VakeelPlease, could you tell me what versions of IDS can connect to SQLServer using EGM ? Do you know any tool or product that - connected in SQLServer (2000 or 2005) can access IDS db to select data in its tables ? Thanks in advice. It does not have much to do with the version of the engine itself, product can be installed in a different location form the engine, and the engine connects to the gateway through server definitions in sqlhosts. It worked fine on 7.31's, 9.4's and 10's. I have not messed with IDS 11 yet. I don't know much about sqlserver and going the other way, You could probably look into their SQL Server Management Studio ???
