Try the sample sqlhosts.std and onconfig.std in $INFORMIXDIR/etc as templates for sqlhosts and onconfig (in same directory) for minimal testing. In sqlhosts use server demo_on with onipcshm, replace on_hostname with simple hostname dat3ix (check /etc/hosts for dat3ix entry). In onconfig check ROOTPATH (existing file with user:group informix:informix, permissions 660), MSGPATH, LTAPEDEV (/dev/null, for minimal testing only!), DBSERVERNAME (demo_on). Mininmal environment exported should be INFORMIXDIR, INFORMIXSERVER, PATH=$INFORMIXDIR/bin:$PATH . For initializing/starting the server you canuse the verbose option '-v' in addition. Andreas
