This could be an example of what others in this group call "memory leak". I've encountered it in the past, and it usually means that you need to strip down the number of variables in the program. Back in the dim, dark ages I used to put all my table records in one huge globals file incuded in all modules a_rec like a.*, b_rec like b.* etc.. That worked OK up until about the 40th table was added (and everything recompiled), and then did the animal excrement impact on the overhead oscillator! Haven't noticed it as much in RDS 6.X, but I've no doubt its still there, I'm probably just older and wiser than before :) Bryan Tonnet batonnet@zeta.org.au
