Backing up Informix on Netbackup 3.4.1

I had a working environment for backing up a couple of Informix Dbs.
NBU is on Windows 2000 server. I reinstalled NBU (because of OS
issues) which unfortunately took out all my classes (3 of them).
I re-installed it in the same directory structure and, I am now trying
to reconfigure the Informix Onbar class type, but the backups don't
happen.
The class is backing up a single Solaris 7 machine hosting Informix.
It's defined as Onbar-type and has the "Default Policy" for 24x7,
"Automatic Full Backup" for weekend, and "Automatic Differential-Inc"
with no schedule yet. Also, i use a script on the host onbar.bkup.full
that used to work until last week. I know that the automatic backups
through the default policy never worked for us, and i used to initiate
the backups from the host using "onbar -b -w -L 0"
There's no issue communicating with the server, but it gets stuck
after mounting the first tape. Here are a few things i can note:
-Based on my memory for last few backups, the tapes (18 in the
library) are all pretty much filled up i think, because it used to
complain for volumes not available for certain backups
-When i initiate the backup right now, the Drives tend to go "Down"
automatically - there are 2 drives
-In the logs, i see these messages regularly in bpdbm folder:
Files\\VERITAS\\NetBackup\\db\\client is empty or not accessible, No such
file or directory (0)
21:29:58 [2268.2312] <4> bpdbm: request complete: exit status 227 no
entity was found
21:29:58 [2408.2216] <4> connected_peer: Connection from host
vl-pa120-001, 192.168.1.21, on non-reserved port 3849
21:29:58 [2408.2216] <4> process_request: VSMInit() failed for stunit
change: 2d
-I've also tried taking ALL the old tapes out and put a brand new
DLTIV tape, update the volume with DLT 2 Cartrige type, put in the
necessary volume pool, and initiate the backup, but that doesn't work
either.
-I am not sure if i have the class not configured the right way, or
there's something wrong with the drives.
Lastly, i have the Catalog directory saved from the previous setup,
which has teh IMAGE and HEADER files. Is it possible to restore the
classes/policies from here?
Any help of pointers appreciated.
Thanks,
Anjan
Just wanted to post a followup on this -
It's working fine now. I resintalled everything with new tapes. The
errors mentioned below seem normal, as they are still occurring when i
have successful backups.
Thanks,
Anjan
