Linux and the ACE report writer

I have encountered a problem that I am sure I have seen before but I just can't seem to find it in CDI. My problem is that the ACE report writer is not displaying any of the normal progress messages to the same "window" as the isql menu system. The result is that when errors occur in the report the system merely shows Press Return to Continue and then redisplays the menu. If there has been an error it is lost ( or is it?). Actually when the user exits from isql there are all the missing lines, but of course, if you are not running a scrolling terminal you will only see the last screen full. (And for some reason Linux manages to turn off scrolling on the terminal emulator I am using!) Has anybody else seen this effect? And does anybody know of a "fix"? regard Malcolm
