Powerbuilder problem with Informix serial types

How do you refresh a Powerbuilder datawindow with an Informix primary key that is of type serial? Since you pass in a 0 to the engine to tell it to insert the next row with the next available primary key value how does the new value get back to the datawindow in Powerbuilder?
