NT : Want to delete the pagefile.sys file
Posted in 1998
Hi NT Users, I am basically Unix person and am not aware of many things on NT. I am supporting a web based application with informix data wherehouse on NT Platform. I have a file in the c:\\ directory (pagefile.sys) which is more then 1 GB. I am not sure as to why it is there, and if it is really required. If it is just a log file then I would like to delete it and let it get recreated. dir Directory of C:\\ 04/08/98 01:18p 9,107 .bash_history 09/16/97 10:35a <DIR> Acrobat3 11/24/97 10:23a <DIR> NTNFS 04/10/98 07:59a 1,073,741,824 pagefile.sys The date 04/10/98 gets updated whenever I re-boot the system and it remains the same till i re-boot the system again. move pagefile.sys e:\\tmp The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. I try to open it in text pad and it says it cannot be opened, currently being used by other application. Give me some way to do away with this file so I can free the 1 Gig. of disk space. Thanks, Sunil Thakkar. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
