How strange! Here is an excerpt from an email from "Marc E Tousignant/Reading/Contr/IBM@IBMUS" that I recieved today. "While there are plans to make IDS 10 available via the DM Gold package there is no ETA on when this might be completed. No further information is available at this time." Not to stir sh*t up but we have a single person here giving two different customers the exact opposite information, or mis-informix I should say. --- "David E. We also received an email similar to the one Mr./Ms. Redden quotes above. IBM seemed to be simultaneous admiting and denying entitlement to IDS 10 for GOld Bundle licensees. What were we to think? In fact we have received, maybe, half a dozen emails from IBM on this issue. Some indicated some kind of qualified entitlement; others indicated clear denial. The preponderance was, however, negative. See for example, this excerpt of an earlier email, which I did not publicize before this present post: [IBM PA responding to email in which Alaska Dept. of Corrections asserted] entitlement to IDS 10 under Gold Bundle license]"Our previous replies have never said you are entitled to IDS 10." The first email quote I posted at the beginning of this RE: "threadlet" was the most recent one at that time of posting, and seemed the most indicative of IBM's position. (That was the one in which IBM asserted that there were "no firm plans" to release IDS 10 to the Gold Bundle licensees.) Again, I explicitly exempt from criticism those IBMers who, with no obligation to our agency, and no previous relationship to us, went out of their way to intervene. I mean Mr. Dryburgh, in the UK, and Mr. Johnson in the US. Through them our agency has been satisfied. My only intent in further posting the subsequent IBM communication was to stimulate IBM to make a clear, unambiguous, and public statement about IDS 10 entitlement for Gold Bundle licensees.
