The Informix SQL engine in the Unix box CAN'T take strings of over 18 characters so "amikeliunas@worldbank.org" had to be trimmed to "am@worldbank.org" so when I sent the SQL request the Unix box could talk to me. BTW do you have a log file on the Unix box to track your requests? You can do that by typing: $INFORMIXDIR/lib/sqlexecd -l $INFORMIXDIR/star.log that way you can see if your request reaches the Unix box.. (I kept getting "sqlexec amikeliunas.worlbank.org informix -p" until it worked). BTW I use Intersolv Q+E for the OBDC instead of Access. Adrian Mikeliunas World Bank
