We have an NT online workgroup server that is located at a different
site than our main office. We need to automate loads, unloads and some
simple querys for reporting and administration purposes. We are also
working on unloading data from this Informix box and loading it into a
db2 system running on an AS/400.
NT does not have the remote access conectivity or utilities for me to
script and automate the tasks before me. I would like to have an
isql/dbaccess utility and a dbload/unload utility with client
connectivity on one of our UNIX machines (Solaris sparc. 2.6)so that I
can script and scedule this work easily.
Informix has told me that the product I need is the INFORMIX SQL product
that goes for $1000 (US) for a 5 user license.
I have esql and connect, but do not want to use perl DBI/DBD for this
task - a simple set of stock client utilities would do the job.
Has anyone explored this UNIX Client to NT server connectivity before
and found any other product or solution that would be suitable?
Thanks for any help that could be offered..
