How to syncronize an informix 5.x and 9.x database

Is there any quick way to syncronize a 5.x database and a 9.x database:::.. We have a 5.x and 9.x Informix database, and the 5.x and the 9.x database need to be syncronize or the data needs to be refreshed on the 9.x database. we used a dbexport the last time... That seems to work... is there another connection mechanizm between the 5.x and the 9.x that I am overlooking that I can use to copy data from 5.x to 9.x? Thanks in advance
