onpae -a error

All. I have my LTAPEDEV set to /dev/null as I don't want to backup my logical logs but when I do an ontape -a to clear these it responds with the following error: Performing automatic backup of logical logs. Logbackup failed - Log backup to device '/dev/null' not allowed I then shutdown Informix (onmode -yuk) and edited my onconfig so that LTAPEDEV pointed to /devices/pseudo/mm@0:null Following this change I restarted informix (oninit), checked the logfile and it tells me: Onconfig parameter LTAPEDEV modified from /dev/null to /devices/pseudo/mm@0:null. I once again try to do an ontape -a but again it fails: Performing automatic backup of logical logs. Please mount tape 1 on /devices/pseudo/mm@0:null and press Return to continue ... Remote tape report: /devices/pseudo/mm@0:null: unknown host could not write log tape. Any ideas anyone? TIA. D.
