Informix (Japanized) product line

I have a question that deals with international version of the Informix engine. We would like to know before we order whether we need both an English and a Japanese version of the software because we plan to develop on the English side as we would prefer messages to be in English and then deploy on a Japanized server. 1. Is it an option switch that one can toggle to switch between English/Japanese engine? 2. Or do we really need two separate development servers one for developing on English engine and one for testing on Japanese server. Does anyone currently have Japanese OnLine 5.0 and knows whether it can switch between English/Japanese server with matching changes to the error messages. Thanks. email or followup is fine.
