HP and Oracle....

Ok, here's an interesting twist: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/10/04/oracle_hp_use_of_infiniband/ The concept is a data warehouse appliance. Its interesting in itself and while it is Oracle, it opens up some interesting data warehousing ideas. But the point I would like to make is that while there is this type of forethought and R&D, similar concepts could be applied to IDS. IDS is probably the "greenest" database on the market. Its ironic that while IBM is touting "green" in their new commercial, IDS and their game company win shows just how green it is over Microsoft. Yet this isn't being marketed. I wonder why? Perhaps certain IBM execs should hang out with InDeep. Providing of course that he's willing to share. ;-) -G
