Re: Odp: crontab + ontape
Posted in 1998
Create a script to run the ontape backup and schedule this via Cron.
Remember to set up all your Informix environment variables first. We run
the following script and it works fine for us.
"ontape.sh"
#!/bin/ksh
export INFORMIXDIR=/opt/informix
export INFORMIXSERVER=online_prd
export ONCONFIG=onconfig.online_prd
export PATH=$INFORMIXDIR/bin:$PATH
ontape -s -L 0 <<EOF
EOF
# note the blank line is used to satisfy the tape mount request
exit $?
