You did not state your platform and OS. However, most Logical Volume Managers provide commands for copying or mirroring logical volumes. They are helpful in copying data from one physical disk to another. In the absence of a Logical Volume Manager, you could use the UNIX "dd" command or Informix mirroring to relocate the chunk.
