Informix 11.50fc9 - Netbackup

Folks, Does anyone have experience using/configuring informix with Netbackup. Environment Informix 11.50fc9 Solaris 10/E25k NetBackup-Solaris10 7.1 Using Onbar BAR_MAX_BACKUP 12Informix instance size ~900 Gb with 193 dbspaces. Media and Management servers running on Windows Server. We are in the process of migrating our backup solution from Tivoli Storage Manager to Netabakup solution and have a couple issues maily I think due to communication issues between Netbackup Client. One instance of Netbackup I have a restore issue where we have a 52 Gb object where we write all the data back to disk during the restore but onbar failes to get the EndData signal from teh XBSA interface and we retry the restore. While testing over the weekend I had to retry some 6 times before being able to complete the restore. Is there something subtle in the setup that I have missed? The other issue is with Informix backup on a second istance where the onbar sessions fail because the NB client/server session it was writing to has disaapeared. Any insights would be grateful. I have some experience with it. What you're describing looks lke communications or timeout errors. You should check the netbackup logs. If needed you can increase the debug level (BAR_DEBUG) of onbar, but that will cause too much info to be written in bar_debug.log The only special configurations regard some env variable that will tell it the original SERVERNUM if you're restoring to a different server with a different SERVERNUM... That's the only thing I recall... Make sure to check the netbackup logs (/usually in /usr/openv/netbackup/*) Regards.
