Hi, I have problem with I4GL (7.20.UD7) on Linux (SuSE 5.3 - 2.0.35) when trying to compile any 4GL program, the initial phases are OK, but the load fails with :- /usr/i486-linux/bin/ld: cannot open -lcrypt: No such file or directory Machine is an Intel celeron 333, 64Mb. Engine is SE (7.24.UC5) plus I-Connect, both of which were installed after the 4GL. There is a file libcrypt.so.1 in /usr/informix/i486-linux-glibc6/lib but if I try to include it directly OR create a symbolic link to it from within $INFORMIXDIR/lib/tools it complains about missing references. Anything you can suggest to solve this would be very welcome. I rather suspect that SuSE 5.3 still uses libc5 rather than glibc. Hence, you aren't directly supported. However, the chances are it will work if you hack the c4gl script to remove the reference to -lcrypt; the relevant functions are bundled with libc5. > Machine is an Intel celeron 333, 64Mb. You'd also have to use the libc.so.6 (I think) in place of your normal library. > Anything you can suggest to solve this would be very welcome. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.60 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
