Hi!
Have a look at your online.log. How long does the checkpoint take??
The checkpoint duration shouldn't be more than 1 or 2 seconds.
If the problem is the duration of the checkpoint (that's what I expect),
then have a look at the size of your cache buffer (BUFFERS) and try to
lower LRU_MAX_DIRTY and LRU_MIN_DIRTY in order to get writes to disk
between checkpoints (LRU-Writes). See onstat -F output.
