why bother going through ACCESS
EXCEL 5.0 offers direct access to Informix database using Q+ E ODBC
drivers
In EXCEL, under DATA, select "Get External Data"
this opens up "MS QUERY" which allows sql type queries into anything you
have drivers for..... OR
you can actually program a "cell" in spreadsheet with an SQL statement to
populate that cell dynamically from Informix
This is more direct than getting data into Access database, then into
Excel
