onmode -cuky not working

Hello all, i am trying to shutdown the informix instance with onmode -cuky vikas:/export/home/informix>onmode -cuky it hangs at this point. the online.log shows 13:43:20 Maximum server connections 2 13:43:20 Checkpoint Statistics - Avg. Txn Block Time 0.000, # Txns blocked 0, Plog used 0, Llog used 1 13:43:21 IBM Informix Dynamic Server Stopped. 13:51:28 VP Notify mechanism incomplete after 5 minutes. This can be due to slow network file access. Will try 11 more times 13:59:36 VP Notify mechanism incomplete after 5 minutes. This can be due to slow network file access. Will try 10 more times vikas:/export/home/informix> onstat - IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 11.10.FC2W1 -- On-Line -- Up 01:57:29 --4101120 Kbytes vikas:/export/home/informix> Pls let me know what exactly is happening. what do i have to check for now and what should i do to shutdown the instance ? Thank you Nilesh ! but the worst thing had already happened and dont know why and what exactly went wrong. tried to work with logical log backup using directory feature of IDS 11.10 and making it run through alarmprogram on my test server. i have edited the alarmprogram ( not sure if i missed some thing)for ontape backup by changing only 2 parameters BACKUPLOGS Y BACKUP_CMD="ontape -a" ( still i dont now what more changes do i have to make ) after setting the ALARMPROGRAM to the path of alarmprogram.sh i rebooted the server,did some activity and found that the current logicallog after getting filled up was backed up automatically .but after some time i when i again did some insertions and found that the logs those are filled up are not yet backed up. i tried them to backup with ontape -a but it showed program over and none log was backed up. then i did onmode -cuky in order to restart the server.this never retured me the next prompt only i could see "INFORMIX DYNAMIC SERVER STOPPED"in online.log and then the msg as pasted in 1st post for this thread. tried to to oninit -v which did not worked .finally decided to resotre a level 0 and take the db up even that failed saying that shared mem not initialized for server. the onstat - showed *** WARNING: IBM Informix Dynamic Server is no longer running. *** then i just rebuilded the whole instance again and now again trying what exactly should be the setting's for alarmprogram/log_full.sh to work ie to backup logical log's as and when they get filled up. Pls let me knw if any one has any idea about this . Thanking you in advance .
