Walt Hultgren has mentioned a general solution that sounds great, but that might be overkill if your needs aren't all that extensive. I've used a simpler approach that might be useful in smaller cases. The idea is just to pass your function a parameter that identifies the window that should be made current when the function is done. For example, the following routine displays a message in a special message window, and then returns to one of four other windows. function msg_show(msg, w) define msg char(75) define w char(1) current window is mwind message msg clipped attribute (reverse) case w when "p" current window is pwind when "k" current window is kwind when "d" current window is dwind when "i" current window is iwind end case end function Hope this helps, -- Harry Bochner bochner@das.harvard.edu
