Need some advise on Informix versions

Keep in mind our support contract has elapsed and we are not receiving any more Informix products at this time. All OLTP We are now running Sunos 2.6 IDS 7.24 (everything has been running great here for years.) Other products that run on this server are not supporting 2.6 and may be forcing us to go to at least sunos 7 I have software IDS 7.31 for sunos 7 and IDS 9.21 for sunos 8 and all the tools that go with them "Rumor" has it that 9.x's are very buggy and slower than previous versions. Is there any validity to this and is there anything to document this. I am not really looking for performance gains as I do not want to loose any performance from going from 2.6 to another version. Also, is there any real bugs that stand out with 9.21 running in an oltp environment? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Hi NJ

Also, is there any real > bugs that stand out with 9.21 running in an oltp environment? I have used 7.31 in the past and currently using 9.21.UC4 and I can categorically state that 9.21.UC4 is not only buggy but also slower than 7.31.
