Re: Corruption in Informix C-ISAM file - HELP.

I guess you're using Informix SE as you talk about Isam files.
Have you try the bcheck utility ? Run it one time for detecting and correcting
troubles, and another time to ensure it is resolved
If it doesn't work qith bchek, and as far as your system catalog is still ok,
you can create an empty table of THE SAME SCHEMA (use dbschema to get it and
create the indexes in the same order but of course with other names) and copy
this new .idx file to replace the corrupted one. Then, let bcheck repare indexes
for you.
If even your system catalog doesn't let you access to the table (usually you can
see indexes in sysindexes but a DROP INDEX statement reply it doesn't exist),
you can makes DELETEs into sysindexes table and drop the .idx file to replace it
by and empty one created as explained just over. You MUST be logged as INFORMIX
to have DELETE and UPDATE acces to Informix system catalog.
Don't forgot to make copies of system catalogs tables (sys* in your .dbs
directory) and of the corrupted table.
