Re: NO SUPPORT

There is support available today with the right support contract. The minimum OpenLine support is of course only available during regular bussiness hours, which obviously do not include a national holliday. Here are some extra options you can get described on their web site if you have an OpenLine contract: 24 X 7 Support During non-business hours, we have a 24 X 7 support option which provides access to an on-call support engineer. When minutes count, and you can't afford down time, 24 X 7 support is the answer. After-Hours Support After-Hours support is for those who need technical support coverage on a pre-planned, temporary basis. With this option, you decide when you need off-hours support and pay only for that specific time. After-Hours is appropriate if you don't require constant around-the-clock coverage, but can plan the specific time you will require support during non-business hours. An After-Hours option may be appropriate for you if you don't require 24 x 7 support. An alternative we have found that works excelently, without any of these extra options, is simply to call one of their other support centers that are open for regular bussiness. They may take care of you without extra payment, or in some cases perhaps a one time charge. May be Canada or Mexico is open or even the South American support center in Florida is open (305 265 7545). Check this page for other phone numbers: http://www.informix.com/informix/corpinfo/location/offices.htm They are sales offices, but should be able to give you support phone numbers to call. Remember non of this is necessary if you have an appropriate contract. This service is excelent in my opinion. If you post your problem here, someone might even answer you with the solution.
