(The archive checkpoint is the checkpoint that the archvie process requests and it is used to determine the timestamp to compare all the pages timestamps to, to determine if they indeed need to be backed up or not). We don't force you to rollforward logs so the archive has to backup as many as it needs to roll those open transactions back. You don't mention how much of a difference you are seeing in size. Also do you have blobspaces, with tables that reference them? > What's really going on???
