Final note: I avoided cheating by finding out that I actually have a subwindow and it will position fine if I don't set any character attributes in the window struct delivered from _efwopen. I called "wattrset" before and it apparently trashes positioning (never trust a struct). Not being able to color mark text for cut-and-paste etc is rather a drawback. My workaround is to replace the text with underscores when marked, in effect hiding the text. Hopefully this will be enough for my users, or I will have to invent another wheel..
Have you looked at porting your 4GL app to Querix Lycia or 4Js Genero? This will give your users the full GUI/mouse experience almost immediately with very little work and allow you to improve the appearance and features going forward. Art Art S.
