Now it would make more sense for Microsoft to acquire Sybase for around a billion dollars and grab SQL Server for UNIX, IQ, SQL Anywhere, Replication Server, and a large presence within Silicon Valley. They could shoot/convert the rest of the business, ironically the rest of the business is all that is working for Sybase today :(
