Error 1228l

Following program, on few run-time production systems is returning error -1228. Page 5-13 of Informix ESQL/C Programmer's Manual (v 5.00) doe snot even document this return code. Re-installing Online & ESQL/C removes the problem. But re-installing software on production systems is :-( !! Use "esql a.ec" to compile on development system & copy executable 1.out on the run-time system. Any ideas/suggestions/modifications/hints can only help!!
