error in connecting informix client with database

Hi, I m facing problem in accessing infromix database from informix client. the version of IDS is 9.4 The client and the database both are on diff machines.*(diff ip address). i have same os and filesystem on both the machine but diff hostnames. i have set the /etc/hosts, /etc/services and $INFROMIXDIR/etc/sqlhosts entries in both the client and db and able to connect to each other ( ie able to ping each other). i have set the locale also. but when i try to connect the db from client using dbaccess it gies me an unkown error 32370. what is the proper way of doing it? am i missing something ? please guide me to proceed . can i have some document for it.? thanks , vartika.

What about the following files on both systems? I think you need to have the trust set up. /etc/hosts.equiv ~root/.rhosts ~informix/.rhosts Also, is all the (client) software installed on the client under $INFORMIXDIR?
