DB ping giving me general error

I am using a system DSN to connect to an informix server. I am using IBM informix client SDK 2.81. My DSN is working fine and giving me no error as there is a test and connect button from which one can check and verify the connection. But when i try to check it with DB ping utility, DSN is giving me this error.Can any body help me to find what the problem is 4:14:22 PM : SQLAllocEnv Successful 4:14:22 PM : SQLAllocConnect Successful 4:14:29 PM : There was an error within SQLConnect! 4:14:29 PM : SQLState = 37000 4:14:29 PM : Native Error = -11060 4:14:29 PM : Error Message = [Informix][Informix ODBC Driver]General error. Make sure you have INFORMIXDIR set properly. Also ensure to use the same protocol type which you are using for DSN. What's the IDS version? CSDK 2.81 is quite old version. Dear Shesh I have checked the informixDir variable its proper . i have checked it a setnet32,i have also checked in registry and i have also check it in system's enviormnet varibales in control panal. But still this general error is not leaving me. I am on winserver 2003 and wants to connects to a remote Infromix server. So kindly help what could be the possible mistake or any thing that i have missed. Thanks for help
