My 2 cents, It "really" does not matter which is "better". With my understanding of Oracle and Informix, there are many areas that could be labelled as "better" by Informix. M$ runs flashy ads on TV that look good, but contain NO technical information...but people can hum the music. BUT THAT IS THE POINT! Name = flash is what a 30 second ad is! So higher ups can say: I've heard of M$ and tell the techs to go buy that NT thing! It is up to us techy types to evaluate the available options and explain why Informix is "better" than SQLServer, but that is very hard to do if they have NOT heard of Informix! The bottom line is: Informix needs to make some noise in the "real world" for the higher ups will give it a chance! And make the installion program cleaner ;) Steve -- Steven L Cooper Manager, Systems Engineering --------------------------------------- Please reply to NG only, so others may be enlightened...
