Please consult the Installation Instructions. I am working with the same version of Solaris and Informix as you. Did you install both ESQL/C and the I-Connect product? I made this mistake and I was seeing the errors you're reporting as well. On the advice of tech support I un-installed the Connect product and re- installed ESQL/C and IDS and the problem went away.
