Just touch a file name, chmod 660, chown/chgrp informix, and set your tape device name to the path. Remember to have sufficient disk space free... :) I don't generally recommend disk backups, but it should be OK if you back the disk files up quickly enough. What version are you using? I presume 5.x. Version >= 6.x has the new, improved onarchive utility.
