Informix Bug or valid SQL?

I believe this is an Informix bug, especially since older versions used to give an SQL error when you Declared a cursor selecting X columns, but used a fetch with Y columns (where X != Y). V7.21 and 5.something or other let you do this (I wrote test cases in both 4GL and ESQL/C) Does everyone else agree that this is a bug (not only in the code I tested, but in Informix itself for returning a SQLCODE of zero)?
