Well I'll be buttered on both sides.
I'm just adding logs to a Solaris running 7.31.UD1 (yeah - must make them
upgrade)
$ while onparams -a -d llogdbs1 -s 5000; do onparams -a -d llogdbs2 -s 5000;done
Informix Dynamic Server must be in quiescent mode.
So there ya go. The difference with this is, I'm specifying the new size. I
wonder if that's the secret that causes the need to be quiescent, because
the linux box I tested yesterday did not refuse.

Nothing to do with the v9 engines having DYNAMIC_LOGS, then ?
