It is now possible to access Informix databases using SQL commands from Excel by using the MSQUERY applet included with Microsoft Office along with AUGUST SOFTWARE's premier ODBC Router(tm) system. This new technology offers the fastest and most economical way to build Mac based client/server systems. With ODBC Router(tm), each Mac or PowerMac in your network has a single document called the ODBC OverDriver(tm) installed into its System Folder. This document enables your Macintosh to automatically connect to the ODBC Router(tm) running on an NT server using AppleTalk or TCP/IP. On the inexpensive and easy to administer NT server, you just install an Informix 32-bit ODBC driver and the Informix 32-bit client software. (You can even install the Informix server there, if you want.) NT is a great server platform and the Macintosh is an awesome client platform. ODBC Router(tm) integrates the two into a single resource enabling all of your database servers to work well in the Macintosh environment. For fast information on the new ODBC Router(tm), you can call for complete information from our FAX server at (714) 454-9007 x411 --or just drop an email to me or to august.sw@applelink.apple.com. -Tom Gray AUGUST SOFTWARE CORPORATION (714) 454-9007 x443
