D4gl - A few questions

A few questions about D4gl - can I use it for the project I am working on? We currently use SE5 with I4GL on Sun / Solaris. All clients used Win NT based PCs running terminal emulators. There is lots of investment in the current code and the resources are not there to do a complete rewrite using a new client server tool. There is now quite a bit of pent up demand for new functionality. The main requirements being :- * Document management. * Computer telephony integration. I was wondering if D4gl could help with the implementation of these things without the need to throw away the 4gl code? Firstly, document management - does D4GL support blobs? I noticed one of the examples the 4js (who I believe developed D4gl) web site showed an image of a flag but I can't find any reference to it in the on line manual? Is there any other way to get blob type objects integrated with the database. Perhaps through some kind of hook on the client rather than the server side? Secondly, I assume that since you can integrate the code with C if I had a C based server side CTI toolkit then I could integrate that with 4js. Is that right? Thanks in advance for you response. Please email to me as well as posting to the newsgroup. Regards Richard Percival Information Link email : richardp@informationlink.demon.co.uk tel : (+44) 171 263 5551 fax : (+44) 171 263 5535

We use it and it works! I would use this and write ESQL/C code to do the document management (via a text-search engine e.g. Dataware,Verity,Topic). >Thanks in advance for you response.
