Ok, so I'm a Christian too. But I also realize that Hanukah starts Dec 25 this year, and Kwanzaa Dec. 26, and Ramadan (although over) started on Oct 4. And, of course there are those folks who don't really celebrate anything but a "happy holiday". So it seems more like we should be saying "Merry Christmanukawanzaliday". I jest, but I do wish everyone a happy time, regardless of what you celebrate. Yes, Jesus is the reason for Christmas, but he is not the reason for the other holidays Americans celebrate at this time. I, for one, am tired of people not saying "Merry Christmas" when it's actually Christmastime. But I also don't like how some of my own people don't acknowledge the validity of the other holidays. We all live together in America, we should respect each other as much as that is possible. I want to strive towards a united America, a place where everyone should feel welcome, black & white, Jew and Christian and Muslim, religious and non-religious. If we don't do this, then America will someday cease to be a somewhat peaceful place to live. All this fighting really stinks sometimes. It is wrong to exclude any group just because you don't believe the way they do. It is also wrong to just say "Happy Holiday", in my opinion. Please avoid the HH stuff and keep up the "Merry Christmas". Maybe, if we're lucky, one day the rest of the nation will get their heads out of their asses and re-join common sense.
