No 1) There is nothing you can do about it anyway and 2) The system catalogs remain resident in the Data Dictionary Cache anyway so accessing the catalog pages from disk is rare. If you have more than ~300 ACTIVE tables in all database in the instance you can increase the size of the Data Dictionary Cache with the DD_HASHSIZE and DD_HASHMAX config file parameters. The former must be a prime number and defaults to 31 the latter defaults to 10 the product of these is the size of the cache. Art S. Kagel
