I am modifying someone else's program and came across this problem. Any help is greatly appreciated. There is a table with a field called text_comment. I know from using a form that the previous programmer wrote, that there are several entries of text_comment for a customer. I am now writing a 4gl program to allow update of the text_comment. However whenever I try to display the text_comment to a screen, only some of thetext shows up. I did a query in isql and the same thing happened. The field name "text_comment" did not even show up for the records where the text did not show up. I looked at the code for querying text and found out that he calls a C program that uses popshort and popquote to help display the text. He then calls another C program that he wrote called disp_char which I can't seem to find yet. Anyways I hope people can follow my explanation of the problem. Why can't I query in isql and look at all of the text_comment. And why is he using popquote and popshort in helping to display this particular field? If I try to display the text_comment in the update code that I am writing, I get half blanks, same as when I use isql. I should be able just to display the text in the form and then update it, but I can't even get most of it to appear. You can mail me directly if you know of an answer. Thanks in advance.
