Re: Informix and JDBC versions compatibility
Posted in 1999
1. Your Informix Server is accepting connections only
through shared memory (Look at your line in sqlhosts with
the protocol type onipcshm)
2. Add the following to your onconfig file:
DBSERVERALIASES dbserver_ip
NETTYPE tlitcp,1,,NET3. Add the following line to your sqlhosts file:
dbserver_ip ontlitcp agvs sqlturbo4. Add the line
sqlturbo 1526/tcp
to your /etc/services file.
Now, the port in the connection string should be 1526.
5. Restart the Informix server running the commands (as informix or root):
onmode -u
onmode -k
oninit
I don't know for sure if the tlitcp protocol is supported on
your platform. To find the supported protocols you have to
look in the release notes somewhere in:
$INFORMIXDIR/release/en_us/0333/IDS_7.3
There should be a line stating the supported protocols like:
TLI using IPX/SPX
TLI using TCP/IP
At least this is in my release notes. If your port doesn't support
the TLI protocol, just change "tlitcp" to "soctcp" and "ontlitcp"
to "onsoctcp".
To test that your server is listening to the new connection you can:
1. set the INFORMIXSERVER env. variable to dbserver_ip
2. run the dbaccess and try to connect to any database.

Octav
