I am newly hired DBA and have looked at the informix manuals. That does not give me enough information. For only a directory like /mnt4/casemng/ I need to back up THAT directory - not whole database. Is it correct that I just type "tptape -s /mnt4/casemng/" ?? OK now I just want to backup the filename like /mnt4/casemng/.profile Is it correct that I just type "tptape -s /mnt4/casemng/.profile" ?? What about recovery? "tptape -r /mnt4/casemng/.profile"?? Do you know any good informix manuals other than informix press? Thanks in advance for reply! Thanks in advance for the reply.
