database/system migration scenario

hello all, we currently run informix on HP-UNIX 11i (version 9.40FC3) - and we always have since the start of our business (it's been about 6 years now and started with Informix version 7 on HP-UX). It has performed well, HDR replication is good, etc. There is talk of migrating to AIX on a carved partition on iSeries - has anyone done this? does anyone know of pitfalls, risks, etc because of the platform change or any other gotchya's?? Thanks much!
